Writers Guild of America West Announces Final Candidates for 2023 Officers and Board of Directors Election
Los Angeles, CA — Writers Guild of America West has announced the final list of candidates for the 2023 WGAW Officers and Board of Directors election.
The Officer candidates nominated to run are as follows: President – Meredith Stiehm (inc.), Rich Talarico; Vice President – Michele Mulroney (inc.), Isaac Gómez; Secretary-Treasurer – Jeffrey Thompson, Betsy Thomas (inc.).
There are 20 candidates* nominated to run for eight open seats on the Board of Directors as follows: Nicole Yorkin (inc.), Molly Nussbaum, Danielle Iman, Maggie Levin, Blake Masters, Rob Forman, Alex O’Keefe, Dailyn Rodriguez (inc.), Jonterri Gadson, Adam Conover (inc.), Leah Folta, Grant Scharbo, Sean Presant, Scott Alexander, Jackie Penn, Kira Snyder, Dante W. Harper (inc.), Van Robichaux, Zoe Marshall (inc.), Niceole Levy.
*Anthony Sparks withdrew his candidacy on July 5. Safia M. Dirie withdrew her candidacy on July 12. Justine Bateman withdrew her candidacy on July 16. Susannah Grant withdrew her candidacy on July 18.
Note: WGAW internal rules require candidates to be announced in an order determined by lot; (inc.) denotes an incumbent candidate.
The WGAW will host a Candidates Night forum, where Guild members may pose questions to the candidates, on Wednesday, August 30.
Guild members will receive voting materials, including links to candidate, non-candidate, and rebuttal statements, if any, on August 29. Candidates may distribute additional campaign materials at their own expense. The voting period concludes on Tuesday, September 19, at 12:00 p.m. (PT). Members may vote online or request a paper ballot to vote by mail. In accordance with labor law, proxy voting is not permitted.
